Who we are
At First Assembly of God, our heart is simple: Connect to God, Love Others, Reach the World.
We’re a diverse, Spirit-filled church where people of all backgrounds can experience the hope and healing that come through a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. From kids to seniors, our ministries are designed to help you grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and make a difference.
Our History
Our story dates back to a prayer meeting held in the historic Georgia Schoolhouse in 1928. The small group was simply known as “Georgia Mission.” In 1937, then known as “The Church of Georgia,” we built on our present property, and various additions have been added throughout the years. In 1946, we became known as “Georgia Assembly of God” after affiliating with the Assemblies of God denomination a few years earlier.
Today
Since 1966 we’ve been “First Assembly of God of Freehold Township,” and built a new sanctuary in 2015. Currently, Rev. Matthew V. Jones is serving as the 6th pastor in our church’s history.
