Colombia 2027

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” - Matthew 28:19, NIV

May 22-29, 2027

We are so excited to host our first missions trip in over 10 years! Thank you for your willingness to help reach the world for Christ. At First Assembly, we want to Connect to God, Love Others, and Reach the World. We are called to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). A short-term missions trip is an incredible opportunity to experience all of this as God works in you and through you while you selflessly serve His Kingdom.

This year, we are heading to Colombia to work with Assemblies of God missionaries Brian & Raquel Correia. Brian and Raquel are the National Directors for Convoy of Hope Colombia. Their ministry includes children's feeding initiatives, agriculture, women's empowerment, boys' and girls' empowerment programs, and disaster services. We already partner with them on a monthly basis, and I have personally served alongside them on missions trips in the past, and now we are excited to partner with them together for this trip!

The total cost for the trip is $2,000 per person. Inside this packet, you'll find the payment schedule and meeting schedule.

Being involved in a short-term missions trip is an incredible experience. It involves hard work, as you'll be outside your comfort zone and humbly serving under the leadership of our missionary hosts. It's also incredibly rewarding as God grows your faith while working through you to reach others that we are ministering to.

As we get closer, we'll be meeting together as a team and praying for our time in Colombia. Allow the months leading up to the trip—including raising support—to function as a faith builder in your life. Our ministry doesn't start when we arrive in Colombia—it starts here in New Jersey, at our church, and in our hearts. Ask the Spirit of God to stir your heart for the people around you as you live on mission for God's Kingdom.

As we prepare for this trip, immerse yourself in Scripture and prayer. In Acts 8:26–40, Philip left what was comfortable as the Spirit of God led him to a desert road to meet an Ethiopian man. Thank you for your willingness to be led by the Spirit of God in a similar way!

Scriptures to Read & Pray:

Matthew 28:19–20

Acts 1:8

Romans 10:9–15

Acts 8:26–40

Thanks again for your interest in serving on this missions trip. We are praying that God will use us to minister in Colombia while deepening our faith as we step out in obedience to His call.

Looking forward to serving together with you in Colombia!
